Horse Racing Ireland Headquarters, Ireland

Horse Racing Ireland is a commercial semi-state body that is responsible for the thoroughbred and horse racing industry within Ireland.

The practice was appointed following a competitive design and interview process to design a building that would accommodates both HRI’s new headquarters and facilitates for Tote Ireland, who own and operate racecourses, as well as providing credit betting services.

It accommodates 120 staff, working in open plan and cellular accommodation, to serve the very differing aspects of HRI’s operation.

The building sits on a wonderful greenfield site, adjacent to Ireland’s premier racecourse, the Curragh in Co. Kildare.

The low slung, two storey structure is carefully integrated into its landscape setting, with a consciously restrained palette of materials combining white limestone and silver framed glazed panels.
