ARM Headquarters, Belfast
Located in the award winning City Quays 2 Building at Clarendon dock, Belfast, the fit out for a world leading technology company was designed by TODD Architects, managed by Turner Townsend and constructed by Somerville Shopfitting.
The carefully considered design makes the most of its location and views along the River Lagan. The design was based on the idea of “from the hills to the river,” with nods to local landmarks and vistas using colour, materials, and graphics.
The design by TODD allowed for incorporation of a number of bespoke ‘pods’ which are clad in perforated birch and house a series of collaboration booths, meeting rooms and tea points, These pods, which facilitate agile and collaborative working, are arranged around the building core thus allowing the highly glazed façade to remain free of obstructions.
To maximise ceiling heights the existing structural floor deck was exposed and clad in natural wood fiber to provide acoustic insulation. Ceiling heights were modulated by providing lowered zones over focused and open plan working areas through the introduction of ‘louvred rafts’ and natural wood fiber paneling.

TODD chose the simple, well designed and functional furniture for the office, from sit-stand desks with wireless charging, standing height collaboration benches, high backed acoustic sofas and soft seating to cater for the various working styles, creating a flexible and calming interior.
The overall scheme culminates in a refreshingly contemporary and bespoke office scheme which meets and exceeds the client’s expectations.
