Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Eton Manor, London
The Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is a London 2012 legacy venue, originally serving as a London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Training venue and then hosting wheelchair tennis.
The practice was appointed by contractor H&J Martin to complete the detail design and delivery of the venue transformation, to a design prepared by Stanton Williams Architects.
It’s now the headquarters of England Hockey and a key development centre for the Lawn tennis Association.
It comprises four indoor and six outdoor tennis courts as well as a 3,000sqft international hockey stadium, a second international standard hockey pitch, a mountain bike trail and associated changing and support functions.
Particular care was taken in working with the contractor to ensure that quality of the design detailing was reflected in the construction quality.
