Phoenix Village, Bradford

Phoenix Village a c. 420 home residential development on brownfield land on the southern edge of Bradford city centre.

Designed for developer AMAFHH, the scheme comprises two blocks arranged around landscaped courtyards, knitted into the surrounding neighbourhood and creating a new street based urban form.

Car parking requirements have been carefully concealed within basements that follow the natural slope of the site, ensuring a pedestrian friendly environment for residents.

The buildings themselves are in the form of continuous lower plinth pieces, from which taller elements rise in response to views and orientation.

The buildings are faced in differing colours / textures of buff brickwork, to establish individual identities for each, with a mix of vertical and horizontal emphasis in the elevational patterning providing further architectural interest.
